What you'll do
As a Public Affairs Manager, you’ll be helping to set and deliver the bank’s public affairs priorities, advising colleagues on emerging political and policy developments and working closely with our stakeholders across government and the political landscape.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring the policy landscape for emerging political and public policy developments and communicating effectively with the relevant internal stakeholders
- Proactively supporting the Public Affairs team to review the bank’s policy priority areas that aligns with the wider bank strategy
- Representing NatWest Group externally with relevant stakeholders, including engagement with government, political parties, trade bodies and think tanks
- Developing strong relationships with executives and supporting senior researchers and members of Corporate Affairs leadership with their relationships with ExCo and the board
The skills you'll need
We're looking for someone with experience of working in a public policy environment, including government, in-house, agency or a political environment.
You'll have experience of managing public policy risks and issues and in providing strategic counsel to internal colleagues.
You’ll also need:
- Experience working in financial services is desirable
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- An understanding of the banking and capital markets policy landscape would be an advantage
- A proactive and positive approach to work
- Strong communication and influencing skills at senior and executive level
