About The Role
As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Ecotricity, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity, performance, and reliability of our products and services. Your primary focus will be on executing comprehensive testing strategies across various development phases, including Unit, Integration (IAT), System, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our technological solutions meet high standards of quality and align with business needs. Your expertise will support both technical testing requirements and end-user validation processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. You will actively participate in requirements gathering through the 3 Amigos process, design and review test cases, and implement automated testing frameworks. Balancing technical rigor with usability, you will work to identify potential defects early, prevent regressions, and optimize testing efficiency. Your role will also involve monitoring testing KPIs, providing insights through analytics, and communicating testing value to stakeholders. You will be a key driver in evolving our QA practices, ensuring they adapt to technological advancements and project demands, ultimately contributing to the delivery of high-quality, reliable products that support our sustainability mission.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Quality Assurance role, with a strong understanding of Unit, Integration, System, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Professional certifications in Quality Management Systems (QMS), Software Testing, Project Management, or related fields are a plus.
- Expertise in designing and implementing testing frameworks for technical and user-focused testing.
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working with diverse testing methodologies and teams.
- Advanced knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency in test management software such as Zephyr, Provar, or equivalent tools.
- Solid technical background, including experience in software development and web technologies.
- Risk management and defect management skills.
- Excellent communication skills for articulating testing processes and findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and best practices in QA testing.
Responsibilities
- Participate actively in the 3 Amigos process for requirements gathering and test case design, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functionality.
- Adopt a proactive approach to early defect detection, preventing regressions in later development stages.
- Assist in developing and implementing a robust QA framework encompassing Unit, Integration, System, Performance, and UAT testing.
- Embed automated testing practices aligned with the testing triangle principles to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, plan, and execute rigorous testing protocols for various testing phases.
- Standardize testing methodologies, integrating technical and business-focused UAT processes to optimize the development lifecycle.
- Utilize automated testing tools and integrate these within the UAT platform where applicable.
- Equip the UAT environment with monitoring and analytics capabilities to gather insights for continuous improvement.
- Communicate the importance and benefits of testing methodologies to stakeholders, fostering a quality-focused culture.
- Balance technical testing rigor with UAT practicality, prioritizing defect resolution based on user impact.
- Assess testing effectiveness through KPIs, contributing to quality improvement initiatives based on data insights, including the DORA framework.
- Maintain effective communication channels among technical testers, business analysts, and UAT participants to ensure cohesive testing efforts.
- Review and update testing strategies and plans regularly to adapt to project changes and technological advancements.
