Quality Assurance Assistant

Don & Low are currently seeking a Temporary Quality Assurance Assistant to support in the Technical Textiles Division in our Forfar site. In this role you will ensure that quality of product which is produced within Don & Low Ltd is maintained and enhanced to advance the company in its current position as a world leader in the manufacture of Industrial Textiles.

What you will be doing:

• To carry out required testing on materials manufactured within Don & Low Ltd as per the D & L Fabric Test Specification
• Record data for analysis using computer systems
• Highlight failures of materials to management to ensure substandard materials are not sold to customers
• Provide daily updates of quality results on suspect materials
• Work in conjunction with the Development Department in preparing and collating information on trial products
• Supply input to Development Department when drawing up new product specification
• Carry out daily quality audits of products during their production run
• Compile reports and graphs as required by management
• Demonstrate a full and complete understanding of all test equipment located in QA Department
• Ensure that the Don & Low Health & Safety Policy is strictly adhered to
• Maintain clean, tidy and safe areas and equipment
• Provide informative and legible reports & carry out regular Quality Audits in all processes
• Participate in production activities as required
• Participate in project work and QA meetings

What we are looking for:

• Educated to a good standard in numeracy and literacy
• Significant work experience ideally in a textile manufacturing process
• Creative in implementing and progress changes and improvements
• Self-motivated and the ability to work unsupervised
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Good understanding and working knowledge of weaving process within a textile environment or similar background
• Advance knowledge of the products, materials, processes and Test Methods
• A self-motivated individual who also has the skills to motivate others
• Problem solving abilities
