Quality Compliance Officer
£29,989 per annum (pay award pending) - Grade 4
Leeds / Hybrid
Full time / Permanent - 37 hours per week
Please note that the Combined Authority will consider requests for part-time working and/or job share.
We have a rare opportunity for a Quality Compliance Officer to join our Monitoring and Compliance team. The Monitoring and Compliance team form an integral part of the wider Mobility Services team within the Combined Authority, travelling on and monitoring the operation, patronage, reliability and quality of the section’s tendered services for Schools, Non-Schools, Bus Stations, AccessBus and Special Educational Needs (SEN) Transport services.
This isn’t your typical compliance role. As Quality Compliance Officer, you will play a key part in monitoring the performance and compliance of transport services across West Yorkshire. Your work will take you out on the network, travelling on key bus routes to assess service delivery, monitor schedules, and ensure operators are meeting Combined Authority conditions.
Working ‘incognito’, you will also act as an on‑the‑ground observer within Bus Stations, reviewing conditions of use, operator behaviour and overall service standards. Your findings will contribute to detailed monthly or quarterly reports that help shape service improvements and hold operators to account. As a Quality Compliance Officer, you will also work closely with a broad range of stakeholders - from education teams and teaching staff to AccessBus colleagues, taxi and bus drivers and bus station managers - making strong, clear and professional communication essential to ensure issues are understood, escalated and resolved effectively.
This role will give you the autonomy and responsibility to manage your own workload and schedule, providing flexibility while maintaining high standards of service and accountability.
