The Role

You will be responsible for quality control within the production environment, inspection of incoming goods, booking into the company MRP system, and quality control of our outgoing products.

To ensure conformance to Company standards, specifications, and drawings, you will be responsible for performing various inspection tasks within the Company and under the instruction of the Operations Director and undertake Positive Material Identification (PMI) inspections to ensure compliance.

All aspects of Quality Assurance should be controlled and processes in place to prevent quality escapes and focus on identifying any quality issues within the production area.

Responsibilities

  • Cover the inspection of products and processes relating to all aspects of quality control with the Company (e.g. goods-received, in-process, NDT, and final inspection).
  • Ensure the conformance of products and processes to relevant specifications, complete and maintain accurate documentation according to the Company requirements. This includes:
  • o 1st Off Inspections
  • o Dimensional Inspection Record Sheets
  • o Dye Penetrant Inspection
  • o PMI Reports
  • o Goods Reject Notes
  • o Non-conformance reports
  • o Work instructions/procedures
  • o Raw materials certification
  • o Calibration of inspection equipment
  • Raise non-conformance reports where any items or events do not conform to standards or specifications/drawings.
  • Use recognised quality control measuring techniques/equipment where manufacturing processes are tightly controlled to ensure the products meet agreed standards.
  • Ensure goods are booked into the MRP system in a timely manner with relevant documentation stored against batch and/or Serial number.
  • Create customer facing documentation packs to support customer orders
  • Work closely with the procurement team to ensure visibility of incoming goods, reporting non-conformance through the team to suppliers and rectifying any issues that arise.
  • Perform any other duty as reasonably requested by the Operations Director to ensure the objectives and the expectations of the customer are met.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Fully experienced with all inspection/measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, thread gauges, shadow graphs and hardness testing equipment.
  • Fully experienced in reading and understanding engineering drawings.
  • Conversant with materials certification.
  • Experience with MRP systems to control both conforming and non-conforming stock.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, especially in situations where quality requirements may conflict with production demands.
  • Work to high standards of quality, within a strong safety culture and a good working knowledge of QMS ISO9001:2008 desirable.
  • Capable of working with tight deadlines and multiple deliverables.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Good numerical and literacy skills.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications and email.

  • Permanent, full-time role. Mon – Fri. 37.5 hours per week. 07:30am – 16:00pm.
