As the First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) Engineer you will play an integral part in:
- Implementing the intent of AS9100 rev D through the deployment of Quality Tools: PFMEA, PPAP, CI, Variation Management, Quality Clinic, ZDP, QN Management, Process Certification.
- Following a detailed process manual to prepare the files and folder structure for FAIRs.
- Uploading of FAIR to customer portal.
- Maintaining KPIs to track the performance of the FAIR process.
- Working with Manufacturing Engineering to optimize all parameters to attain maximum running efficiencies for each job through creation of Standardized Work procedures (cycle times, TaKT times, etc.)
Preferred Skills
- Proven ability to read and understand aerospace assembly drawings and the related tolerances.
- Aerospace / other highly regulated industry experience in a FAIR collation / submission role.
- A good understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Experience of manual inspection and the measuring of parts.
Expertise in:
- FAIR submission (via Net-inspect).
- Demonstrated evidence of FAIR experience.
- FAIR collation (typically to AS9102).
- FAIR review / approval.
- Excellent PC / MS products (word/excel/nuance etc).
- Qualifications:
- University degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred).
- 3 to 5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment (Aerospace or Automotive preferred).
- ASQ "Certified Quality Engineer" certification an asset.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and math data including geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
- Ability to conduct in-depth analysis resulting in development and execution of action plans for improvement.
- Working knowledge of statistical techniques.
- Proficient with RED "X" or similar root causing tools, SPC, Six Sigma techniques, Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA and DOE.
