Description

Quantitative Developer

Location: [London - Hybrid Model]

Our client design and implement high-performance software systems that drive quantitative trading strategies. They are seeking Quantitative Developers who are passionate about building robust, scalable technology that sits at the intersection of finance, mathematics, and software engineering.

As a Quantitative Developer, you will work closely with researchers, traders, and infrastructure engineers to design and implement tools / frameworks that support the full lifecycle of systematic trading, from idea generation and research to live execution and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-performance, low-latency software systems that support quantitative trading strategies.
  • Build integrated research and execution frameworks for real-time data analysis and decision-making.
  • Design and implement simulation environments for strategy backtesting and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with quants and data scientists to create tools that support the rapid development and deployment of predictive models.
  • Engineer scalable infrastructure for cloud-based research and trading workflows.
  • Support the expansion of trading into new asset classes through the development of tailored research and execution frameworks.

Recent Projects Include

  • Delivering low-latency market data feeds to the trading systems.
  • Building an integrated framework to enable rapid iteration between signal research and live trading.
  • Developing large-scale research infrastructure in the cloud for scalable and distributed computations.
  • Creating tooling and frameworks to support the launch of trading strategies in a new asset class.

Tech Stack

The client leverage the strengths of both Python and C++, Python for research, prototyping, and data workflows; C++ for performance-critical systems. The infrastructure runs both on-premise and in the cloud, depending on the specific demands of the workload.

Required Skills:

  • Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or both.
  • Experience working on complex software systems, preferably in a quantitative or data-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with algorithmic trading, market microstructure, or financial data (a plus, but not required).
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for clean, maintainable code and rigorous software engineering practices.
