Are you a quantitative researcher or modeller ready to make an impact? Join us in developing sophisticated models that determine our betting strategies—what horses to back, when to place our bets, and how much to wager. In this exciting role, you'll enhance the predictive capabilities and structure of our models, embracing rapid iteration and driving innovation at the forefront of the industry.
In this position, you'll focus on enhancing model accuracy and accelerating our progress ahead of the competition. If you're someone who has hands-on experience in building innovative solutions and possesses a strong intuition for data and modeling, we'd love to connect with you!
What You'll Do
- Build and iterate on quantitative models to make them as predictive as possible as quickly as possible - strive to make them the best on the market
- Design and implement state space models, neural architectures, or other statistical frameworks - whatever works best to extract predictive signals
- Prototype quickly, iterate and push your solutions to the production environment
- Work together with the wider quant team as well as the trading team, and challenge / help improve their ideas
What You've Done
We are interested in what you've built and how you go about solving problems.
- You have solved at least one difficult modelling-based problem (can be Kaggle)
- You've designed and built your own modelling pipeline / tool end-to-end
- You've built models on real data, and have developed intuition for what works in your domain
- You managed to implement modern statistical tools / models yourself and understand how they work under the hood
- You have a background in a STEM field like statistics / mathematics / machine learning / computer science / physics
Requirements
You'll have:
- Strong grasp of statistics, preference for understanding neural network architectures and state space / time series models and how to make them work in code
- Strong intuition for working with real-life data and its traps
- Proficient in at least one programming language, preference for Python
- Clarity of thought and being able to own and defend your modelling choices without unnecessary jargon
- High velocity: you learn and build fast, iterate, and enjoy pushing what's possible through engineering
Horse racing knowledge is not required.
