About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and play a key role in delivering high-quality building and civil engineering projects. You’ll be responsible for managing project costs, supporting procurement, and ensuring value for money while maintaining the highest standards. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you’ll also support and mentor junior team members.

What you'll be doing

As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be involved in a wide range of commercial and project management activities, including:

  • Managing and valuing work in line with project specifications and procedures
  • Preparing estimates, bills of quantities, and schedules of rates
  • Supporting procurement and managing subcontractor relationships
  • Monitoring project costs and preparing cost reconciliation statements
  • Using ERP systems to track project performance
  • Reviewing and planning commercial activities to align with project programmes
  • Supporting stakeholder and customer engagement
  • Maintaining governance and compliance with internal systems and standards
  • Contributing to the development of junior team members

You’ll also be expected to maintain a Personal Development Plan and work towards (or have already achieved) professional membership with RICS, ICES, or CIOB.

Who we're looking for

We’re seeking a confident and capable Quantity Surveyor who has:

  • A BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience
  • Several years of experience in a similar role within construction or civil engineering
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • A proactive, achievement-focused mindset
  • A good understanding of estimating, cost control, and procurement processes
  • Experience using ERP systems and interpreting technical drawings

Chartered status or active progression towards professional membership (RICS, ICES, CIOB) is highly desirable.
