Health & Safety Advisor – Birmingham

Major HS2 Infrastructure Project (3+ years)

We’re seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading construction contractor delivering a high-profile HS2 project in Birmingham. This long-term role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of civil engineering works, including pumping stations, access roads, and general civils packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Support and advise site teams on all HSE-related matters.
• Report, investigate, and mitigate incidents, ensuring safe systems of work are in place.
• Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety training to project staff.
• Liaise with project managers and engineers to maintain best practice safety standards.

Requirements

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) – essential.
• Previous experience as an H&S Advisor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
