Introduction
London Borough of Lewisham is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the effective delivery of high-value transformational public/social housing projects. With a capital programme project circa £70 million with strong expertise and comprehensive understanding of commercial and contractual elements.

What’s the role?
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to support the effective delivery of high-value, transformational public and social housing projects. With a £70 million capital programme, this role requires strong commercial expertise and a comprehensive understanding of contractual frameworks, procurement, and cost management.
You will provide commercial support, ensuring compliance with obligations across various contract types, proactively managing financial and contractual risks, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
This role involves:
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for capital planned investment and maintenance works.
- Manage contract administration, procurement, and financial reporting for projects.
- Conduct valuations, cost control reviews, and risk assessments to ensure financial efficiency.
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure cost-effective solutions.
- Work closely with stock investment managers, contract managers and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including procurement guidelines and London Borough policies.

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a dynamic team player and problem solver with proven experience as a quantity surveyor with social housing. Strong knowledge of contract management including JCT and other form of contract. In addition, possesses strong analytical skills and negotiation skills with an understanding of procurement and social housing regulations.
As relevant qualification such as a degree in Quantity Surveying, RICS accreditation or equivalent experience.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
Special conditions

- A relevant qualification such as a degree in Quantity Surveying, RICS accreditation or equivalent experience.

Salary
£55,710-£57,726 per annum (PO6).
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
