Job Title: Quantity Surveyors

Please note internally you will be known as Assistant Commercial Managers.
Job Overview
You’ll support our Commercial Managers in delivering Southern Water’s most ambitious capital programme to date. You’ll be involved in a variety of tasks across the commercial lifecycle, gaining hands-on experience and developing your skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Assisting with cost management, procurement, and contract administration across capital projects
- Supporting the preparation of estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
- Helping monitor project costs and progress, identifying risks and opportunities
- Learning to interpret and apply NEC contracts and commercial frameworks
- Collaborating with project teams and contractors to ensure value and compliance
- Contributing to reporting and documentation to support decision-making
About You
We’re looking for someone who is either studying towards or has recently completed a relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. You’ll be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator. Some exposure to construction or infrastructure projects is beneficial but not essential—we’re more interested in your potential and enthusiasm.
Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.
Southern Water operate a hybrid approach to working between our Falmer office and home.
