The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust are excited to announce an exciting new role within our PACs team. We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic individual to take on the role as our Radiology department Navigator and MDT Co-ordinator.
The successful candidate should have experience working in healthcare and a good understanding of patient pathways, as well as advanced medical terminology. They will need a knowledge of NHS priorities and an understanding of the guidelines and targets within their area of work. .
The primary responsibility is to act as a Radiology Cancer Pathway Tracker. This includes monitoring imaging request and report timelines (especially for CT and MRI), highlighting bottlenecks, and facilitating communication between referrers, radiologists, modality leads, and cancer services. The tracker ensures patients on cancer pathways receive timely imaging in line with national targets (e.g. 2WW, 28-day FDS, 62/31-day targets).
The jobholder will also ensure radiology-led MDTs are well-organised and effectively run. Tasks include liaising with MDT coordinators to obtain and review patient lists, ensuring correct patient registration on hospital systems, resolving duplicate patient records, and preparing image sets via PACS for MDT review.
The postholder may be required to assist the PACS team with image transfer processes and handling subject access requests, particularly during periods of high demand or reduced staffing.
To provide administrative and coordination support for the Radiology Department. This dual-role post focuses on ensuring the effective coordination of radiology-led Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings and the tracking of patients along cancer diagnostic and treatment pathways. The postholder will actively support the delivery of high-quality, timely imaging services that meet national cancer targets and local performance standards.
The jobholder is expected to escalate any concerns or breaches in pathways to the specialty management team. A flexible approach to workload and an ability to prioritise duties are essential to ensure efficient, patient-centered care at all times.
