Site Supervisor
Location: Manchester, Merseyside, Stockport

What you’ll do:
As Site Supervisor, your primary purpose is to lead and supervise on-site operations across Arb Rail projects, ensuring all work is carried out safely, professionally, and to client specification. Acting as the company’s representative on-site, you
will drive compliance, performance, and continuous improvement, championing Ground Control’s values and high operational standards.
Responsibilities:
- The Site Supervisor holds day-to-day responsibility for the operational management of field teams, subcontractors, and direct labour on live rail sites. You will ensure safe systems of work are followed, all project documentation is completed to a high standard, and work is delivered right first time.
- Health & Safety: Setting up safe sites, overseeing safety compliance, delivering toolbox talks, and promoting hazard and close-call reporting.
- Operational Delivery: Supervising day-to-day tasks, ensuring client specification compliance, managing site access and egress, and escalating issues when required.
- People Leadership: Motivating site teams, holding them to account for outputs and safety, and reinforcing company values and behaviours.
- Client and Company Representation: Acting as the face of the company on-site, ensuring professionalism, quality communication, and timely feedback to Site Management.
- Decision-making & Autonomy: You will operate independently on-site within defined parameters, making operational decisions aligned with company safety and quality standards. Complex or strategic issues are escalated to the Site Manager.
- Impact & Complexity: Your role directly impacts safety outcomes, compliance, team morale, customer satisfaction, and project profitability across multiple sites nationally
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- COSS (Controller of Site Safety) Certification
- PTS (Personal Track Safety)
- IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- Demonstrated experience in site supervision within a rail or arb environment
- Working knowledge of safety legislation, operational procedures, and quality assurance processes
- Strong IT, verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and hold teams accountable
Desirable Knowledge and Skills:
- PIC (Person in Charge) Certification
- Arboriculture experience or technical knowledge of vegetation management
- First Aid Qualification
