Overview

A leading international law firm is seeking an Associate to join its Real Estate Finance team in London. The team advises major financial institutions, corporates, and sponsors on complex and high-profile finance transactions across multiple jurisdictions.

The Real Estate Finance practice covers a broad range of domestic and cross-border matters, including senior and mezzanine lending, structured finance arrangements, and investment-backed facilities. The work spans a variety of asset classes such as residential developments, large-scale commercial projects, hospitality, logistics, student housing, data infrastructure, and office portfolios.

The practice supports clients on a diverse range of corporate lending matters, including syndicated, bilateral, and structured loans. The team is known for handling complex, first-of-a-kind deals and providing innovative financing solutions in a fast-changing legal and regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and amend legal documentation
• Provide strategic advice to clients in meetings, calls, and written communications
• Manage client expectations and deliver projects efficiently
• Contribute to business development initiatives, including personal and team plans
• Undertake legal research
• Supervise junior team members and coordinate with local counsel and other specialists

Key Requirements

• Qualified lawyer (1-5PEQE)
• Strong technical knowledge of real estate finance transactions and corporate lending
• Intellectual curiosity and adaptability
• Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Strong client relationship skills
• Experience working at associate level in a complex international organisation
