What is the opportunity?
The REF team is responsible for the marketing and execution of Real Estate Finance transactions, through structured finance such as Non-Recourse Loans and correlated Subscription Facilities which are tailored to address clients’ needs.
The fundamental role of the Associate is to support the marketing and origination of new business opportunities, support the marketing and origination of complex transactions, as well as to support critical internal processes. Key activities include management of both client oriented work and internal processes.
What will you be doing?
- Support for credit approvals, and execution of individual deals, as well as for risk management (including mitigation plans) related to Real Estate Finance business.
- Support deal cycle process, including origination, structuring, coordination with internal relevant parties, risk taking including internal credit approval, negotiation, execution, and transfer to International Portfolio Management (IPMD) for monitoring
- Develop relationship with Real Estate Sponsors, Agents, Lenders, external legal firms, and other relevant market participants
- Support the establishment of distribution capabilities by co-working with the Syndications team
- Maximise revenue generation and return on risk capital and support the achievement of team and departmental revenue targets for each FY
- Ensure robust first line of defence and support IPMD as necessary in monitoring and maintenance of the credit quality of loan portfolio, and if required coordinate risk mitigation
- Other duties as may be required.
What do you need to succeed?
- University Degree or equivalent with professional qualifications
- Prior experience in banking sector, especially in Real Estate Finance, demonstrable origination, structuring, negotiation, execution and monitoring skills
- Excellent mathematical / analytical skills, modelling knowledge, research capability and skills in corporate finance
- Ability to interpret and analyse financial statements, market data and industry information
- Self-motivated with the ability to understand new topics quickly and apply knowledge gained
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Team-orientated with excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Strong computer literacy and knowledge & application of external data sources
