We’re looking for a friendly and proactive individual to become a key part of our team as a Receptionist/Administrator within the Neurology Department at York Teaching Hospital.
As the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring a warm and professional welcome to our service. You’ll provide essential administrative support to help our department run smoothly and efficiently.
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent communication skills with a kind, empathetic approach
- A positive team player with a can-do attitude
- Previous experience in a healthcare or reception setting would be desirable but is not essential
- Confidence using computer systems and managing administrative tasks

The successful candidate will provide a range of basic Clerical support, including:
- Meeting with patients on reception, and helping with appointments and queries
- Use the e-referral software to process new patient referrals in the required time frame
- Monitor all the departmental email inboxes.
- Receive general enquiries, which could be as the first point of contact including, patients, visitors, staff and others.
