You may be a nurse with referral experience. You may be an experienced primary care nurse or a more recently qualified nurse looking to get into referral nursing. We have various opportunities available as described below, so whatever your story, feel free to reach out!
The Ralph is the UK’s largest private, non-corporate multidisciplinary specialist referral centre in southeast England (Marlow, Buckinghamshire, near London). #TeamRalph comprises ~250 talented and compassionate Ralphers who work together to deliver exceptional care and support to our patients and their families.
The Ralph has recently turned six! Now that we are no longer a startup, a key objective for this year is to reflect on how we operate and structure our teams.
We have a number of vacancies for nurses and nurse interns. These vacancies have been created for several reasons – some are new positions, some are for expansion, others are to replace leavers or team members soon going on maternity leave.
Permanent Nurse Opportunities
We have full-time or part-time permanent nursing opportunities for experienced RVNs in the following teams.
~ Cardiology
~ Dentistry
~ Diagnostic Imaging
~ Emergency and Critical Care
~ Internal Medicine
~ Night Nursing
~ Oncology
~ Ophthalmology
~ Theatre/Anaesthesia
~ Wards
We also want to hear from nurses interested in a hybrid role (splitting your time between two areas or services) or a rotating role (rotating between multiple areas or services).
In these thriving services, you will work alongside veterinary specialists, specialists-in-training, other nurses and patient care assistants. Our caseload is plentiful and varied.
Nurse Intern Opportunities
Our well-established full-time nurse internships are perfect for less experienced nurses interested in getting a taste of referral centre life. We offer two types:
- Service-Specific Nurse Internships (not applicable for Night Nursing):
– These internships last six months.
– You will receive full training, support and mentorship. By the end of your internship, you will have the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform referral-level nursing in your chosen discipline.
– We guarantee you a permanent position in the relevant team at the end of six months, subject to satisfactory performance.
- Rotating Nurse Internships:
– These internships last twelve months.
– You will receive full training, support and mentorship. By the end of your internship, you will have gained considerable exposure to many areas and teams in our hospital and built your confidence in a referral environment.
– If you want to stay at The Ralph at the end of your internship and undertake a service-specific internship in a newfound area of passion, we will do our best to make this possible. This is subject to satisfactory performance during your rotating internship.
The Ralph has Board-certified veterinary surgeons in all our disciplines, including Anaesthesia & Analgesia, Cardiology, Dentistry, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery. Our well-established ICU, with its specialist ECC team, provides a diverse and interesting caseload. We also have a well-established Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation service.
We highly support professional development and growth at The Ralph. We encourage active participation in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
