Regional Legal Director, ROW

Sinclair is looking for a Regional Legal Director, ROW to provide global legal support across EU countries & US.

As Regional Legal Director ROW, you are the primary legal counsel for EU countries & US, responsible for providing strategic legal counsel guidance to the Regional Vice Presidents and their team. You will manage all legal matters arising within those regions and work collaboratively with colleagues in Legal and Compliance for matters which extend beyond your region and have global impact, or which require the assistance of subject matter experts. You will partner with the business and other corporate function business partners in delivering practical, strategic guidance for the business. This position may have management responsibility for one or more lawyers and/or Legal Assistants.

Your role will involve delivering practical, business-focused legal guidance that supports Sinclair's growth and objectives in the market. Exposure to the Dutch/Netherlands market is an added advantage.

Location: Flexible across EU countries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Legal Strategy and Advisory: Provide expert legal counsel to senior management on a variety of issues, including business operations, product development, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance in the relevant Region.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, medical device laws, advertising standards, and any applicable regional or international laws, including those governing aesthetic procedures, treatments, and the use of medical devices.
• Contract Management: Lead and support contract negotiations for key business agreements, including supplier agreements, vendor contracts, client agreements, and distribution arrangements.
• Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Manage legal disputes and litigation across the region, working closely with external counsel when necessary. Provide strategic advice on resolving potential conflicts, minimizing legal risks, and protecting the company's interests.
• Risk Management: Identify legal risks related to the company’s business activities and recommend measures to mitigate exposure. This includes assessing emerging risks and helping to develop policies that promote compliance and reduce potential liabilities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other functions to ensure effective pragmatic guidance for resolving legal and business issues in your Region.
• Training and Education: Work with Compliance to identify opportunities to conduct training and workshops for employees to ensure understanding of relevant legal requirements, compliance policies, and ethical standards within the company.
• Regional Legal Oversight: Manage legal matters across the region, understanding and adapting to local laws, customs, and business practices, and coordinating legal strategies accordingly.
• Management Responsibility: Supervision and support of potential team members assigned to support the Region

Experience & Qualifications:

• Solicitor with at least 6 years PQE, or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a well- regarded international law firm.
• In-depth knowledge of competition law.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office & AI tools.
• In depth knowledge of contract law with solid experience of providing commercial and contract advice and drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts.
• Multi-jurisdictional and competition law experience.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
• Pro-active, adaptable and flexible with proven ability to be able to prioritise workload.
• Ability to react quickly in a fast-paced environment and to work calmly under pressure.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• An effective communicator, both written and verbal, with strong inter-personal skills and the ability to think on your feet and challenge where appropriate.
• Fluency in English.
• Fluent in Spanish / or other languages (depending on role location)
• Previous experience of working in-house.
• Experience working for a Medical Aesthetics, pharmaceutical or Biotech company is preferred.
