Job Description
The Regulation Desk person in London will be part of a small team with members of the desk in Madrid that will have two main tasks:
Be the global specialist on capital markets regulation
Capital markets regulation on all jurisdictions of BBVA CIB footprint. For non-EU jurisdictions they will have to support of local members of the Regulation Desk in the region. The scope includes transaction rules on securities, derivatives and crypto assets, market integrity and post-trade requirements (e.g. reporting and transparency).
Be the local specialist on general UK and EU regulation
General regulation includes conduct rules, product governance, anti-money laundering and other specific regulation of the UK branch.
Area Description
The Regulation Desk develops the following activities:
- Monitor regulatory developments:
- Analyse the impact on CIB businesses.
- Inform CIB business, support areas and collect their views
- Participate in industry associations working groups and committees.
- Defend CIB interest in front of industry associations, regulators and supervisors.
- Assist in the implementation of the necessary changes in the adaptation process to changing regulation.
- Assist in the interpretation of financial regulation.
- Provide training to personnel of CIB on financial regulation.
Qualifications and skills:
- Be fluent in English and Spanish, and have good writing and oral communication skills in both languages.
- Have a minimum experience of five years working in the financial sector.
- Be proactive and have entrepreneurship to push initiatives that require collaboration with other areas of CIB from different locations.
- Be a team member.
- Have capacity to analyse regulatory texts and extract their impact in BBVA.
