Regulatory Officer

Job Title: Regulatory Officer (Authorisations)

Salary: £40,000

Working arrangements: Predominantly home working

Contract: 12 month FTC

Key responsibilities:

• Ensuring authorisation applications are managed, prioritised and assessed within the regulatory and KPI timescales
• Applying a risk-based analysis throughout the process to produce robust and consistent authorisation decisions
• Dealing with telephone or email queries relating to authorisation activity in line with performance targets
• Identifying information requirements to facilitate robust reporting.
• Handle queries, responding where appropriate in line with relevant policies
• Undertaking any other reasonable tasks at the request of the Head of Authorisations and/or the Authorisations Manager (Waivers and Exemptions)

Essential criteria:

• Degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience operating within a regulatory regime
• Solid experience of applying a decision-making framework
• Good experience of analysing information and taking decisions against defined criteria
• Demonstrable experience of prioritising work effectively in a periodically pressured environment and with limited supervision
• Demonstrable experience of risk awareness
• Good experience of databases
• Good understanding of regulation and supervision
