Job Introduction
An opportunity is available for a Regulatory Reporting Manager to join the Regulatory and Governance team. You will be located at Bristol or Castle Donington depot preferably but any NGED locations will be considered.
Our Distribution System Operator (DSO) is planning the innovative and flexible electricity system of the future, making sure we have the right network in place for our customers with smart investment at the pace and scale that allows us to use all available capacity. We know that our customers’ electricity use is changing and the speed of change will only accelerate. Our DSO is continuing to develop the capability to take a more strategic, long-term view about how and where we invest to meet significant growth in demand. To ensure this investment is in the right place, at the right time, it’s essential that we engage effectively with our regulator meet our obligations and demonstrate our performance effectively.
This role will be setting the standard of how we report and manage our performance, ensuring we outperform our RIIO ED2 Incentive Award. Working across DSO and wider teams with Electricity Distribution (ED), the role holder will think strategically to develop and own our regulatory and business reporting. They will lead on our incentive performance reporting ensuring that the DSO is well represented to the Ofgem Performance Panel. The post holder will support the transition towards our ED3 price control to help deliver a comprehensive and consumer value driven set of new DSO incentives.
As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. Hybrid working can only be considered once your initial training is complete and subject to business need.
Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed on a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
Main Responsibilities
- Accountable for developing and delivering a DSO incentive outperformance strategy and associated implementation plan, working across the DSO leadership team
- Lead, coordinate and project manage the DSO Panel Report annual submission, working collaboratively across the DSO team to gather input
- Lead internal stakeholder preparation for DSO Panel assessment
- Establish DSO KPIs/metrics and reporting cadence, including use of digital tools to create insight and dashboards
- Ensure any regulatory reporting requirements are delivered on time and to the desired quality, project managing the delivery of these outputs across the wider DSO team
- Act as the lead interface between DSO and NGED Regulation
- Coordinate the approach to risk management and compliance across the DSO
Ideal Candidate
Knowledge & Experience
- Expert knowledge of GB regulatory environment including experience in network incentives frameworks
- Expert knowledge of engaging and reporting to the regulator
- In-depth experience of working with and influencing key internal stakeholders in a large, complex organisation, working in a collaborative manner to reach shared objectives
- Demonstrable passion for driving consumer benefits through networks regulation
- Excellent written and verbal communication including demonstrable experience of senior leadership reporting

- Able to think and act strategically as well as tactically
- Delivery focused with project management experience of embedding and sustaining new approaches to the way people work
- Excellent written skills and a strong communicator
- Strong external mind-set – able to deal with the complexity of the energy sector and understand the competitive regulatory landscape

- Proven people manager with a commitment to team development and capability-building
- Driver’s licence required
