We have an exciting opportunity for an Rehabilitation Assistant to join our Acute Stroke Therapy Team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
We have a diverse caseload and see people with a range of cognitive, physical, communication, and psychological needs. We see people with a range of goals and we deliver therapy to meet these needs.
We are looking for a passionate, creative and motivated person who has excellent communication, time management and organisational skills required to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Assisting in providing Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy interventions for patients assessed by the team on the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU). Once deemed competent, the post holder will be able to assess non-complex patients, progress them and plan discharges appropriately, liaising with key personnel and outside agencies accordingly.
- To carry a case load of stroke patients and to carry out their management, once they have been assessed by an Occupational Therapist Physiotherapist
- To work under the direction and guidance of an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist within the team but may work without being directly supervised but with immediate access to a therapist on site or by telephone/bleep. Other members of the team may also request tasks to be undertaken which will support them in managing the workload on a daily basis.
- To work within the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy team, with access to direct supervision from an Occupational Therapist Physiotherapist or when required.
- The post holder will be expected to use clinical judgement when undertaking their work whilst remaining within agreed plans.
- To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- To participate in a 7-day rota including weekends and bank holidays.
