Relationship Manager – Real Estate Finance

Role Overview

This position is responsible for executing the strategy of the UK Real Estate Finance (REF) business in alignment with global real estate and real assets management. The role involves originating, structuring, and managing real estate loan transactions, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards, and maintaining the integrity of the loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Execution
• Implement the UK REF strategy in coordination with senior UK and global leadership.
• Transaction Origination & Execution
• Originate and structure real estate finance transactions.
• Ensure alignment with Credit, Compliance, Legal, and Tax requirements.
• Assess commercial viability and syndication/securitisation potential of underwritten loans.
• Oversee timely and accurate execution of transactions in line with legal and tax guidance.
• Risk Management
• Act as First Line of Defence (1LOD) for risk and compliance.
• Monitor and manage the existing loan portfolio, recommending actions to protect institutional interests.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Represent the institution in investor roadshows and syndication meetings.
• Participate in internal business and credit committees as required.
• Portfolio Oversight
• Supervise post-closing management of real estate transactions.
• Ensure ongoing monitoring and performance of the UK real estate loan portfolio.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in real estate finance, preferably within the UK market.
• Strong understanding of credit risk, compliance, legal, and tax considerations in real estate transactions.
• Experience in loan syndication and securitisation strategies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across global and local teams.
