Job Description
As part of the Release Engineering team, you will help create and ensure the stability of software updates across the entire Darktrace product suite.
What Will I Be Doing
You will play a crucial role in troubleshooting software issues, collaborating closely with our Support Engineers, and acting as a key liaison to our Development Team. In this role, you will gain a broad understanding of large areas of the Darktrace product suite and have opportunities to take on small projects, allowing you to utilize and develop your scripting skills. Your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and diagnosing new and reported issues within the Darktrace platform,
- Liaising between the development team and our support team,
- Developing, configuring, and automating systems and services.
This is a hybrid role, requiring compulsory attendance of 2 days a week in the Cambridge office.
What Experience Do I Need
We are looking for candidates with demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and analytical thinking, along with the ability to leverage tools and data for troubleshooting and optimization. Candidates should also be familiar with Linux command lines and scripting languages like Python or Bash. Other essential skills include:
- The ability to collaborate effectively with others as well as work independently,
- A strong desire for continual learning,
- Demonstrable networking knowledge, including basic concepts such as TCP, UDP, DNS, and the ability to troubleshoot related problems,
- Understanding of core Unix system components such as services, package manager, and time daemon, with a track record of solving related problems.
- While previous experience in DevOps or QA roles is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite.
