Role Overview
As a Release Manager, you will be responsible for orchestrating the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple software releases across a complex product ecosystem. You will ensure that releases are delivered on time, with minimal risk, and in alignment with stakeholder expectations and strategic goals. This role demands strong leadership, communication, and technical acumen to manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement across the release lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Release Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain a forward schedule of releases across CFEMS and related systems.
- Lead release readiness reviews, go/no-go meetings, and deployment planning.
- Coordinate release activities across development, QA, operations, and business teams.
- Ensure compliance with release management processes.
Stakeholder Communication & Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for release-related communications.
- Translate complex technical details into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external suppliers, and senior stakeholders.
- Manage expectations and ensure alignment with business objectives and timelines.
Coordination Across Product Lifecycles
- Oversee releases across multiple product lifecycles, ensuring interdependencies are managed effectively.
- Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions from development to deployment.
- Monitor post-release performance and lead retrospectives to identify areas for improvement.
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with releases.
- Develop contingency plans and ensure robust incident response protocols are in place.
- Maintain release documentation including runbooks, checklists, and rollback strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in release management within large-scale government or enterprise programs.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with change advisory boards (CAB), and configuration management processes
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent releases and prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Git, Jenkins, and monitoring platforms.
Desirable Qualifications
- ITIL Foundation or Practitioner certification.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
- Experience in fraud detection or case management systems is a plus.
