Are you passionate about sustainability and skilled in renewable technologies? Join our Internal Maintenance Service (IMS) team as a Renewable Technology Operative. You’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality fault fixing, servicing, and maintenance across our homes, helping us meet our environmental goals while ensuring excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair renewable technology systems, including fault-finding, installation, and annual servicing.
- Deliver all work to the highest standards, complying with safety regulations and service specifications.
- Provide excellent customer care and act as a professional ambassador in residents’ homes.
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota and attend training and team meetings as required.
- Maintain accurate records using handheld devices.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times.
- Apply basic electrical knowledge to support fault diagnosis and resolution.
- Support the wider Property Services team with responsive maintenance tasks as needed.

This role is being offered on a full time permanent basis working
40 hours per week. This is a mobile role working in Exeter and the surrounding areas.

Skills
To be successful in your application for the role of
Renewable Technology Operative you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 1 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:
- Post-qualification experience in the renewable technologies industry.
- Strong technical skills in diagnosing and repairing heating systems.
- Basic electrical knowledge and experience using mobile technology.
- A full, manual, UK driving licence.
- A positive, customer-focused attitude and the ability to work independently.
Essential Qualifications
- Low Carbon Heating Technician Apprenticeship OR:
- Electrical: Core apprenticeship (2360 parts 1 & 2 or equivalent - NVQ 3, City & Guilds)
- Gas: CCN1 (Domestic Core Element)
- Unvented Hot Water
- Water Regs WRAS
- Part L (Energy Efficiency)
Desirable Qualifications
- 18th Edition (BS7671) - Required to complete within a reasonable timeframe after successfully passing the probation period.
- CKR1 (Cookers) - Required to complete within a reasonable timeframe after successfully passing the probation period.
- HTR1 (Heaters) - Required to complete within a reasonable timeframe after successfully passing the probation period.
- Level 3 Solar Thermal / Heat Pump Installation & Maintenance
- F-Gas Level 1 or 2
- L8 (Legionella)
