About The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer focused individual to join our Rents team to support Nottingham City Homes tenants claiming Universal Credit.
It will be your responsibility to provide a proactive and dedicated service to our tenants to encourage responsible rent payment and ensure tenancy sustainability. You will help applicants and tenants to understand and maximise their entitlement to benefits. You will play a vital role in supporting tenants through the first period of their Universal Credit claims ensuring their awards are correct.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Recent experience of advising on Universal Credit and legacy benefits
- Ability to interpret complex information and convey it in a way that is understandable to tenants
- Effective written and oral communication skills through a variety of channels, including telephone, face to face and in writing
- Ability to make accurate and timely decisions, often in pressurised situations and to act tactfully and with sensitivity and courtesy at all times.
- Ability to effectively organise and use your initiative to prioritise workload to ensure that tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
- Be an active member of the wider team, acting and supporting colleagues in a collaborative way and to promote best practice across the team
