Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate leader to play a key role in shaping our evolving service and implementing our ambitious research strategy.
You'll lead a dedicated, high-performing team as they deliver a diverse portfolio of clinical studies within our Clinical Research Facility and across the Health Board. You will collaborate closely with investigators to expand the
research portfolio and champion clinical research. As an experienced research professional, you'll provide expert oversight and day-to-day management for the delivery team, ensuring the highest standards of research practice and clinical governance in all clinical research studies.

Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be responsible for a research delivery team in recruiting and delivering care to patients participating in
clinical research trials. The post holder will have managerial responsibility for the research delivery team and be
instrumental in implementing the research strategy objectives.
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of a research team, ensuring appropriate cover and skill mix for the smooth
running of research projects
- Responsible for the clinical co-ordination of a portfolio of research projects taking place within the UHB.
- Liaise with Principal Investigators (PI’s) and allocate research projects to research staff using professional judgement to
assess workload and nursing capacity within the UHB
- Working collaboratively with the Operational Management Group to provide professional leadership and support at a
departmental level to research staff
- Ensure that all research undertaken within the UHB safeguards the wellbeing of patients and is conducted within Good
Clinical Practice Guidelines.
- Act as a resource for all research active staff and departments within the UHB.
- Support the set up and delivery of complex trials stepping in for member of the research delivery team as required
- Responsible for the oversight and support of directorate-based research teams, ensuring appropriate cover and skill mix
for the smooth running of research project.
