This is an exciting opportunity to join the Experimental Cancer Medicine Team (ECMT) at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust; an international leader in cancer research and the largest cancer treatment centre of its kind in Europe.
You will be responsible for assisting the team of Project Managers supporting Investigator-led research projects. In particular, you will work on projects and tasks relating to cancer of unknown primary (CUP). These include a multi-centre study looking at blood and tissue samples to assess genetic changes that could affect the development of CUP, patient focus groups, educational events, and supporting with scientific abstracts and publications.
Experience of working in a research/clinical trials environment and an understanding of study document management is essential. You will need to be proactive and able to work independently.
The position will involve close liaison with a wide range of academic, clinical, managerial and administrative staff throughout the Trust and other academic and healthcare institutions (both nationally and internationally), grant funding bodies and pharmaceutical companies.
Candidates must have experience working in the research sector, and will be expected to independently work on project specific tasks such as: data management within an eCRF, amendment submissions through IRAS, meeting management including agenda development and minute taking, and general project tracking.
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to support the Chief Investigator and Project Manager with identification and tracking of funding opportunities, ongoing financial management of specific projects and scientific writing tasks such as development of annual reports and abstracts with support from senior staff.
We are looking for someone who is confident to work on tasks autonomously, whilst working within a project team which requires close collaboration and clear communication.
A discussion with the recruiting team to talk about the specifics of this post is encouraged
