Description
The postholder will support the researchers on the development of high-performance low embedded carbon, high recycled content aluminium alloy extruded components for incorporation in battery enclosures and crash management systems and their associated vehicle structures for electric and hybrid vehicles to be manufactured in UK. The post holder will support the setting up of experimental procedures, design of experiments, participation of experiment, preparation of samples, presenting and reporting the results of the work and developing the necessary capabilities in the use of the advanced manufacturing, characterisation and testing facilities available within the BCAST centre.

Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary: Grade 6 from £34,145 to £35,990 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £38,638 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, through sustained exceptional contribution.

Hours: Full-time

BCAST is a speciality research centre focusing on solidification and wider metallurgical research with an international reputation. This position, funded jointly by Innovate UK funded projects, ReCirAl and M-LightEn is a fixed term position for 3 months only . The postholder will support the researchers on the development of high-performance low embedded carbon, high recycled content aluminium alloy extruded components for incorporation in battery enclosures and crash management systems and their associated vehicle structures for electric and hybrid vehicles to be manufactured in UK. The post holder will support the setting up of experimental procedures, design of experiments, participation of experiment, preparation of samples, presenting and reporting the results of the work and developing the necessary capabilities in the use of the advanced manufacturing, characterisation and testing facilities available within the BCAST centre.

The postholder should have GCSEs in Maths and English at least grade C or equivalent and excellent written and spoken English. Experience of a technical nature would be desirable.
