The Role

As we continue to develop our Biopharma site, we’re seeking a meticulous and methodical Research Scientist to support our functional assays development / transferring the relevant methods and RMP analysis. To support the analysis of our Biosimilar products, you’ll develop and qualify methods for the assessment of bioassays and process-related impurity assays – this may include method transfers for lot release assays. From a testing perspective, you’ll use different methods to conduct regular sample analysis of our products using our state-of-the-art equipment, whilst maintaining compliance with all industry and GxP needs. Analytical techniques may include ELISA, cell-based assays, SPR-based assays and process-related impurity assays (HCP, HCD, LPS) and flow cytometry. To support the smooth running of the department, you’ll prepare and complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner to ensure our quality, data and compliance systems remain accurate and respond to any QA observations related to our data verification. In addition, you’ll help to prepare SOPs, MOAs and data reports, as required.

The Person

• Experience in a similar Biotechnology role within a GxP compliant bioanalytical / biopharma / biotech lab in the pharmaceutical industry, with a good understanding of Biosimilar products and relevant analytical techniques (e.g. SPR, ELISA, process related impurities, HCP, HCD, LPS, cell based assays).
• Good knowledge of GMP and GLP guidelines and experience of performing method transfers, new product validations and calibration and maintenance of analytical instruments.
• Strong organisation skills, able to manage your own workload to meet deadlines, even in a fast-paced and changeable work environment.
• Highly analytical with a good attention to detail; can follow instructions closely but also think creatively to troubleshoot problems. bio
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (in written and spoken English), you’re confident liaising with all levels of seniority and navigating cultural differences.
• A natural team player, always happy to support your colleagues and share learnings, but also comfortable working autonomously and using your own initiative.
• Good IT skills across Microsoft Office (including advanced Excel skills) and the ability to learn new company systems quickly.
• A degree-level qualification in a science, life science, pharmacy, medicine or pharmaceutical chemistry based subject is essential for this role; a Masters level qualification is desirable.
