We are currently in the process of establishing a new residential home within the Norwich area called ‘Applewood’, which will provide holistic care for young people with learning disabilities who have autism and sensory needs who may display behaviours of distress. ‘Applewood’ has the potential to provide a home for two young people. The service is situated in a Norwich suburb which has good bus links as well as being close the rail station in the city. It’s location also means that the children who live there will also have good access to local shops, parks and other conveniently situated leisure facilities such as ten-pin bowling venues, swimming pools and cinemas as well as providing easy access to the Norfolk coast. We are now recruiting for residential children’s practitioners for day and night roles. We need highly motivated, resilient and positive individuals who possess humour, tenacity and empathy to help children and young people with disabilities to flourish and reach their full potential. Residential Children’s Practitioner G Grade - £31,537-£33,699 You will provide care to the children living within the home to ensure their needs are met and provide opportunities for them to grow and develop. You will be required to work, days, nights and weekends including bank holidays to meet the children’ s needs. Ideally you will hold a children workforce diploma level 3 and have experience working within a children’s residential home. In the night you will be required to work mainly at night but will involve occasional day work. You will need to be highly motivated, resilient and positive to ensure young people with disabilities thrive and reach their full potential. You may be new to the care profession and will receive a full induction and training programme and be willing to work towards the level 3 diploma for residential childcare, which is fully funded.
