Introduction
The Council is looking to employ a legal assistant to undertake a varied caseload of Right to Buy conveyancing and Right to Buy post completion work and other routine conveyancing and property related work.
What’s the role?
You will be required to undertake Right to Buy conveyancing and Right to Buy post completion matters. Undertake other routine conveyancing and property related work including leases, acquisitions and disposals, wayleaves, deeds of rectification, title and boundary enquiries, registration of legal charges on behalf of other Council departments and payments under the Council’s Cash Incentive Scheme. Be responsible for all conveyancing work in relation to Council mortgages to individuals including dealing with redemptions, overpayments and queries. Assist other conveyancing lawyers in the Team as necessary.

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone that is able to carry out Right to Buy conveyancing and Right to Buy post completion matters. You will be dealing with enquires and corresponding with officers, member, the public and external solicitors. You will need to be able to work methodically under pressure to meet deadlines. You will also be required to carry out other routine conveyancing such as leases, acquisitions, wayleaves, deeds of rectification, title and boundary enquiries and dealing with the Land Registry.
Location
The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary
£36,345 - £37,437 per annum (SC6)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
