We are a career firm, providing access to high-quality work, long-term career opportunities and an environment built on the premise of being “human first” in everything we do. More About Our Risk & Best Practice Team

Our Risk & Best Practice Team plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations and continued success of the firm; it is their responsibility to ensure that the firm maintains compliance with the various regulatory frameworks that it is subject to, and to support individuals across the firm in a way that allows them to carry out their duties with confidence.

Our colleagues in the team are the resident experts on all things related to risk, AML, client onboarding, regulatory compliance, client care, data protection, and much more besides. This will include taking instructions on data subject access requests, providing support on complaints or professional indemnity claims (if and when they arise), delivering firm-wide training on any updates or changes to our regulatory responsibilities, and taking the lead on efforts for re/accreditation from various industry quality marks (including Lexcel, CQS, and SQM).

Day To Day

As a Risk & Best Practice Assistant, your day-to-day will include but is not limited to the following responsibilities.

  • Assisting with checking documentation and AML information collected for the new client and matter opening process.
  • Running PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screening.
  • Managing compliance tools and escalating red flags.
  • Managing the AML inbox and handling new queries.
  • Assisting with day-to-day function of the Risk and Best Practice team as assigned by the Senior Risk & Best Practice Manager in the smooth operation of the team’s tasks.
  • Assist in managing our regulatory practice requirements, complaints, claims monitoring (including dealing with insurers), breach monitoring and reporting of various types, including SRA and GDPR.
  • Record and monitor compliance data on internal recording systems.
  • Provide reports for meetings in a timely manner.

About You

Perhaps you are a law graduate looking to kick-start your career with your first legal support role, or an experienced administrator who is seeking a brand-new challenge. Either way, you should have an interest in compliance and naturally take an organised and efficient approach to your work.

Whilst some prior legal or admin experience would be great, we are keen to hear from those who have related work or study experience and can demonstrate an interest in this line of work.

If you have this experience and are keen to develop your career, then we would strongly encourage you to apply.
