We are an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive work environment throughout our organisation. We embrace all types of diversity.

The Role

The role of Risk Engineer is to understand the key exposures of our clients across various industrial sectors and to help them manage their risk to a tolerable level. The role involves a great degree of client interaction and requires the ability to communicate in a consultative, but diplomatic manner, in order to deliver the results for industry and insurance stakeholders. The outcome of risk engineering surveys is the delivery of technical reports that must be clear to both technical and non-technical audiences, so the ability to communicate with a wide audience is essential.

The successful candidate will be involved in the management of accounts for multi-national organisations across a range of manufacturing and process industries but will be supplemented with survey work in other industries. Excellent knowledge of manufacturing and process operations, logistics, operations, asset integrity activities (maintenance & inspection), and process safety management; plus, international codes & standards is highly desirable.

  • Develop risk engineering programmes for insured clients, taking into consideration the requirements of all stakeholders.
  • Arrange individual risk engineering surveys through discussions with account teams, clients and market engineers.
  • Prepare marketing risk assessment reports to assist in the placement of client insurance programmes, within a prescribed timeframe.
  • Calculate loss expectancies within company guidelines across a range of industries.
  • Provide technical support to clients and the broking team across a range of issues relating to good industry property protection practices.
  • Clear understanding of the funding that supports engineering activities on individual accounts, so as to ensure that the programme stays within the allocated budget.
  • Develop risk improvement recommendations that are clear, appropriate and are fairly balanced between the interests of insureds and insurers.
