We are currently recruiting for a Rolling Stock Supervisor to come and lead a team of technicians in our Rolling Stock Depot in Hornsey to deliver the daily Train Service Agreement outputs safely and effectively. Overseeing all aspects of maintenance and repair for a fleet of trains. Controlling the allocation of safety critical work to competent technicians and assuring the completion and records of work performed.
You’ll make a difference by…
- Develop a high-performance culture with strong employee engagement using the Siemens policies and tools, including but not limited to: Growth Talks (target/objective setting & development planning), succession planning, recognition through the Star scheme or ad hoc approach.
- Implement management policy and direction.
- Coach, enable and champion the growth and development of your employees to assure their capability and support them with their aspirations for career progression, starting with effective on-boarding and induction.
- Motivate the team to achieve high levels of safety, quality and on time delivery by understanding what motivates and demotivates team members. Enhance the motivational factors and reduce the demotivators.
- Conduct and receive recorded shift handovers.
- Schedule and assign work orders for preventative maintenance, campaigns and modifications, investigations, and corrective work.
- Coordinate with materials team on inventrory levels of spare parts, materials and tools.
- Understand, implement, and comply with the SMO UKI RS EHS policies and procedures including: Safe Working on Electrical Systems, Train Movements, Lifting & Handling and Working at Height.
- Management activities using available employee welfare tools (eg safeguarding, mental health first aid, Employee Assistance Programme, occupational health etc).
- Implement safe systems and controls within your area of responsibility.
Your success will be grounded by…
Essential:
- Leadership experience
- Good knowledge of IT systems/software
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Strong organization/planning skills:- ability to track multiple projects and work orders at once.
- Good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment requirements
Preferred:
- Technical knowledge of Rolling Stock maintenance procedures/practices Engineering ONC or equivalent qualification or experience
- Basic understanding of continuous improvement principles
- User level understanding of computerized maintenance management systems
- Contract/Commercial knowledge
