Network Rail High Speed Ltd. (NRHS) is responsible for operating and maintaining the UK's only international high-speed railway, High Speed (HS1).
The 109km HS1 infrastructure consists of a diverse range of railway assets such as the track, signalling, overhead line, lineside buildings, depots, viaducts and long tunnels. NRHS is also responsible for operating and maintaining three international stations; St Pancras, Ebbsfleet and Stratford International.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, NRHS is privately financed under an agreement with our client ‘HS1 Ltd', undertaking a diverse range of activities from railway infrastructure maintenance and operations - through to station facilities management and retail on behalf of our client.

Location: St Pancras (with regular travel to Ebbsfleet and Stratford International)
Salary: Band 5 – £28749 + Inner London Allowance (£3,270)

Roster Clerk to join our dedicated team at
St Pancras, supporting rostering operations across
St Pancras, Ebbsfleet, and Stratford International Stations. This role is vital in ensuring our employees are scheduled effectively, safely, and in line with operational standards—helping us deliver a reliable and inclusive service to passengers every day.
About The Role (External)
🌟 What You'll Be Responsible For
As a Roster Clerk, you'll play a key role in:
- Producing and maintaining efficient, cost-effective rosters using our Corporate Rostering Tool, aligned with national principles and competency requirements.
- Coordinating leave, training, briefings, and medical appointments, ensuring all arrangements are accurately reflected in the roster.
- Managing short-notice changes and liaising with employees and managers to ensure clarity and continuity.
- Monitoring safety-critical competencies and ensuring no rostered shifts are left uncovered due to expiries.
- Supporting payroll accuracy through pre- and post-interface checks.
- Gathering and analysing fatigue data to support wellbeing and operational safety.
- Providing data and insights to support reporting and decision-making across the route.
🧠 What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who is:
- Highly organised, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Experienced in managing data and working to deadlines.
- Skilled in communication and collaboration, with the ability to engage with both local and virtual teams.
- Familiar with national rostering principles and systems, and ideally has knowledge of pay arrangements and the UK rail industry.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong understanding of rostering principles and conditions of service.
- Proven ability to analyse data and produce clear, actionable reports.
- Confident IT skills and experience using roster systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Desirable:
- Geographical knowledge of the High Speed route.
- Understanding of pay arrangements for rostered staff.

Band 5 - £ 28749 (plus inner London allowance of £3,270 if based at St Pancras
