We are cohesive and supportive occupational therapy teams at Worthing Hospitals , well established and widely respected within our Trust and by our community colleagues . We can offer a generous range of clinical development opportunities, to help you gain confidence in your practice , strong skills and a well grounded knowledge base . Our rotation offers you a chance to work in patient care across a broad range of specialisms including acute neurology, acute medicine , A&E, frailty, trauma, surgery, orthopaedics, palliative care and rheumatology.
University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is across several sites, meaning that as a rotating Band-5 occupational therapist you could also choose to rotate into a post at nearby St Richards Hospital if you would like to. (there is a free shuttle bus between sites).
Successful applicants for this post will be eligible to join the Trust Allied Health Professions (AHP) preceptorship programme. This programme supports AHPs over the course of the first year of employment, providing a model for learning, self-development and reflective practice through regular multi-disciplinary learning opportunities and peer support.
To provide occupational therapy interventions as part of an evidence based, flexible and patient-centred approach, working within a Multi Disciplinary team, to meet the health and social care needs of people who are referred to our services.
To perform an occupational therapy role for people referred to the post holder’s clinical team with health and social care needs.
To provide supervision and support for relevant junior members of occupational therapy staff in conjunction with senior staff.
To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated team.
To support the supervision and training for students on practice placement.
Each day will provide you with different and varied opportunities.
