Overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Safety Manager to join a leading fit-out contractor on a landmark commercial refurbishment project in central London. This high-profile role will focus on delivering best-in-class safety standards on a large, complex project.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement the project’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) strategy on site.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure full compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements.
- Develop and deliver site-specific inductions and safety training.
- Lead incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action processes.
- Engage proactively with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture.
- Monitor risk assessments and method statements, ensuring they are up to date and effectively communicated.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Safety Manager or similar HSE leadership role on large-scale construction or fit-out projects.
- Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Construction Certificate, NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Right to work in the UK.
