Sales and Trading Intern

Role Overview

This internship supports the UK FX & Rates team with both daily tasks and medium-term projects. You’ll assist with pricing, structuring, transaction booking, and client pitch preparation. The role offers a hands-on learning opportunity across front, middle, and back-office functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with pricing, structuring, and booking transactions
• Prepare client presentations for the Sales team
• Coordinate with middle and back office teams to support transaction flow
• Communicate with internal teams including Trading, Structuring, Client Services, and Coverage
• Learn about clients, their needs, and relevant market trends
• Ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and within regulatory frameworks

This role falls under FCA Conduct Rules Staff, which means you must:

• Act with integrity
• Show due skill, care, and diligence
• Be open and cooperative with regulators
• Prioritise customers’ interests and treat them fairly
• Maintain proper standards of market conduct

You must also comply with:

• Legal and regulatory obligations
• Internal compliance policies
• Financial crime prevention responsibilities, including reporting to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer

Key Skills & Attributes

• Familiarity with pricing systems (e.g., SUMMIT, MUREX)

Working Conditions

Standard contractual hours apply, but flexibility is expected to meet business needs. Hybrid working is supported where operationally feasible.
