Your Mission
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Sales Director to lead and grow our Industrial and Retail portfolios in the UK’s Bakery, Patisserie and Chocolate markets. You will report directly to the Managing Director, lead a dedicated Sales team, and play a key role in shaping and executing our commercial strategy for these vital customer channels.
- Lead and develop a dedicated Sales team, focused on selling excellence and customer management.
- Drive growth in sales, profitability, and customer base across the aforementioned channels.
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan aligned with Puratos Group’s vision and local market dynamics.
- Build strong partnerships with target customers at all levels from business owners and buyers to category and new product development teams.
What you will do
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, coach, and inspire a team of sales representatives dedicated to their channels.
- Set clear objectives and KPIs, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback and development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, and high-performance team culture.
- Develop senior level relationships with key customer and industry bodies for above channels.
Sales Strategy and Execution
- Define and execute the commercial strategy for the Retail and Industry channels.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with Marketing and R&D to develop campaigns, product launches, and customer engagement initiatives tailored to artisan needs.
Commercial and Financial Management
- Manage the commercial budget for each channel, ensuring alignment with company objectives and profitability targets.
- Ensure accurate sales forecasting in terms of volume and revenue, based on market trends, customer insights, and historical data.
- Implement and monitor pricing policies in line with group guidelines, ensuring competitiveness and margin protection.
- Oversee and control discount structures, ensuring they are applied strategically, conditionally and consistently to support business goals while maintaining profitability.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date customer data in CRM systems.
- Monitor sales performance, margins, and expenses.
- Coordinate with supply chain and customer service to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the Managing Director, as a member of the UK Senior Management Team, to align on business goals.
- Participate in regional and international projects to share best practices and leverage group resources.
What We Expect From You
- Bachelor’s degree education.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in B2B/B2C sales, ideally in the food ingredients or FMCG sector.
- Strong background working with customers.
- Proficient in CRM tools/sales analytics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Determined, results-driven, entrepreneurial and self-disciplined professional.
- Passion for food, innovation, and team development.
