Job Title: Sales Executive
Function: Sales & Commercial
Reports to: General Manager
Location: Leicester covering Leicestershire.
Employment Type: 40 hours per week Full-time, with a probationary period of 3 months
Job Purpose
The Sales Executive will work with a professional sports club to drive revenue growth by identifying, engaging, and securing sales and sponsorship opportunities that support the organisation’s events, programmes, and strategic initiatives. This role requires a proactive approach to prospecting new business, relationship-building, and closing deals, with a strong focus on developing long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospecting & Lead Generation:
- Research and identify potential sales and sponsorship opportunities aligned with the organisation’s brand, values, and audience.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
Sales & Negotiation:
- Develop tailored sponsorship proposals that demonstrate ROI for potential partners.
- Conduct sales meetings, presentations, and negotiations with decision-makers.
- Secure sponsorship agreements that meet or exceed revenue targets.
Relationship Management:
- Build long-term relationships with sponsors to encourage renewal and upselling opportunities.
- Provide sponsors with timely updates, reports, and post-event evaluations.
Collaboration & Strategy:
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure sponsorship deliverables are met and client expectations are exceeded.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging market opportunities to inform sales strategy
Reporting & Administration:
- Maintain accurate sales records, contracts, and correspondence.
- Produce regular reports on progress toward financial targets.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally in sponsorship and sporting events
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Confidence in engaging with senior decision-makers and C-suite executives.
- Skilled in creating compelling sponsorship proposals and pitches.
- Ability to work to revenue targets under pressure.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in a relevant industry (sports, entertainment, non-profit, etc.).
- Existing network of corporate contacts.
- Understanding of sponsorship valuation and ROI measurement.
- Commercial acumen with a results-driven mindset.
