Sales Lead - Ruminant

Hybrid - Derbyshire

As Sales Lead, you won't just be driving sales - you'll be shaping how this business goes to market. You'll play a hands-on role in building commercial infrastructure, establishing key relationships and developing scalable strategies that lay the foundation for long-term success. This is a role for someone who thrives on both field-level engagement and strategic thinking and is excited by the opportunity to help build something from the ground up.


Responsibilities:


  • Leading the commercial sales function - owning strategy, identifying opportunities and driving execution
  • Building and managing a scalable sales pipeline, from lead generation to close
  • Developing and delivering the go-to-market strategy
  • Building trusted relationships with vets, farmers and key accounts to support onboarding and deliver large-scale projects
  • Spending time in the field to stay close to customer needs while influencing broader business direction
  • Setting up and optimising a CRM system to manage pipeline and performance
  • Creating repeatable playbooks and processes to support long-term scale up


Candidate Requirements


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial role with proven results in scaling revenue and driving growth
  • Experience in sales, customer success or go-to market roles - ideally within a start-up, scale-up or early-stage business
  • Strong understanding of the ruminant, agri-tech, or animal health sectors and the ability to build credibility with vets and farmers
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels
  • Experience implementing and managing CRM systems to support pipeline performance
  • Confident in building commercial processes and frameworks from the ground up
  • Hands-on, results-driven and ready to take full ownership in a fast-paced, evolving environment


In return, you'll receive a base salary of up to £60K, 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, pension, plus the potential for equity share options for the right candidate.


This is a hybrid role, working 1-2 days per week from the office, with the rest of your time spent working from home, or on the road visiting clients.
