An exciting opportunity to manage and develop the sales activity at St Giles International, a market leader in the industry with 70 years of experience.
The role will encompass account management oversight of our Overseas Partner (‘agent’) network, management of important agent accounts, development of our general sales strategy and management of the sales team amongst other duties. Many opportunities will be given to develop new Sales initiatives. The role will be based primarily remotely with approximately one day a week at our London Central offices.
The successful candidate will be required to travel within the UK to our centres and internationally to visit our agent partners. International travel may be up to 12 weeks per year.

St Giles International is an internationally renowned group of English Language centres. We cater for both the Adult & Junior market and welcome 6000+ students annually. Our Adult year-round centres are based in some of the UK’s top locations (London Central, London Highgate, Brighton, Eastbourne and Cambridge). We also run a thriving Junior Summer centre operation at several top university and boarding school campuses. St Giles is also renowned for our Family courses & Platinum programmes for Executives. We recruit our students from over 100 different countries, using both B2B and B2C channels. Our B2B work is primarily the responsibility of our Sales team who liaise with a network of over 4000 language travel agencies based all over the world. B2C communications is largely the work of the Marketing team.
Your responsibilities
Within the role there will be a varied mixture of independent and team work. The role is multi-faceted and key tasks will include:
✓ Oversight over our network of Overseas Partners (‘agents’). The successful candidate would be a key point of contact should higher level customer service issues arise
✓ A mixture of development work with current partners for the company and nurturing of new partner relationships so as to ensure that St Giles is as well positioned as possible within the given partner’s list of schools. Frequent negotiation will need to take place with agents in order to maximise partnerships.
✓ Development of an annual Sales plan and budget. Annual sales proposals will be submitted to you by the sales team to assist with this.
✓ Monitoring of sales expenditure to ensure that we remain within budget.
✓ Regular monitoring of KPIs including comparative year to date enrolments received, booked & completed student weeks etc.
✓ Development of pro-active strategies to respond to changing market circumstances.
✓ Regular liaison with the Marketing team to ensure that all strategies are aligned
✓ Monthly report on Sales activities to be submitted to the Deputy CEO and to our Advisory Board
✓ Joint development of new products in collaboration with the Deputy CEO and the rest of the Senior Management team
✓ Attendance at the annual fees setting meeting
✓ Regular collaboration with the Sales team and the Deputy CEO on regional special offers
✓ Management of the Sales team to ensure of consistent high performance. This will entail regular meetings with team members to understand market conditions and advise on the best course of action to be taken.
✓ Authorisation of Sales team proposals for business trips.
✓ Sales team recruitment, appraisals and training
✓ Development of staff incentive schemes when required
✓ Regular contributions and joint leadership of the Sales and Marketing monthly training seminar programme
✓ Intensive account management of partners within Switzerland, CIS & detailed oversight of Brazil, and covering ,when required, any sales visits
✓ Intensive work in the development of growing markets for the company
✓ Identification and development of promising new agent accounts for the company
✓ Monitoring of government sponsored schemes and oversight in tendering for relevant opportunities
✓ Frequent visits when required to other vital markets for the company. These markets could be large markets at present or developing markets where closer partnerships need to be fostered
✓ Attendance at key agent workshops involving negotiations with new and existing Overseas Partners.
✓ Collaboration with the Deputy CEO in her absence & the marketing team on the use of e-marketing with agents
✓ Annual agent targeted e-marketing content plan to be developed in collaboration with the Marketing Manager
✓ Ensuring of successful launches of new products
✓ Analysis of the annual Agent survey and pro-active action to be taken in response to any feedback
Required Skills

We encourage ongoing professional development and therefore, have a well-established program of staff-led training seminars which the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to & lead. Our rewards package

✓ £35,000-£45,000 p.a., dependent on experience
✓ Profit-Related Pay (PRP) – (Further details can be supplied upon request)
✓ Annual Sales bonus
✓ Holidays include 4 weeks/20 working days, not including statutory holidays, plus 1 extra day for every year of service, up to a maximum of 5 days.
✓ Days in lieu offered for extra days worked at weekends and bank holidays (excluding non-working days).

Terms
✓ This is a permanent position with a probationary period of employment of 6 months.
✓ Sick pay includes 4 weeks full pay + 4 weeks ½ pay in any one-year.

✓ Business travel is an important part of this role. We estimate the successful candidate to be travelling overseas for up to 12 weeks of the year but this may vary depending on market conditions.
✓ Working hours overseas will include evenings and weekends
