Job Description
This role serves as the subject matter expert for Salesforce Marketing Cloud, working closely with marketing, sales, and IT teams to align marketing automation, customer journey mapping, and data integration with business goals. The Marketing Architect will guide the end-to-end architecture of marketing solutions, advise on best practices, and lead projects to drive customer engagement, increase campaign efficiency, and improve data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strategic marketing insights to create scalable and impactful marketing solutions.
Your role will involve
- Develop and implement Salesforce Marketing Cloud architecture, including email marketing, SMS, social, web, and customer journey management solutions
- Design and optimise multi-channel customer journeys using tools like Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Audience Studio, and Personalisation Builder to enhance customer engagement.
- Lead the integration of Salesforce Marketing Cloud with other Salesforce platforms (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud) and external data sources, ensuring seamless data flow and customer data unification
- Design audience segmentation, personalisation strategies, and dynamic content solutions using data-driven insights to target the right customers with the right message at the right time.
- Implement automation for repetitive tasks, data workflows, and personalised campaigns, leveraging Automation Studio, SQL, and scripting languages as needed
- Develop frameworks for tracking and analysing campaign performance, using reporting tools like Datorama and Tableau CRM to provide actionable insights to marketing stakeholders.
- Collaborate with marketing, IT, and sales teams to understand business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and deliver scalable solutions.
These Skills Are Essential
- Significant experience in digital marketing or CRM, with a focus on Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions.
- Proven track record in designing and deploying large-scale, data-driven marketing solutions in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- In-depth knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Audience Builder, and Content Builder, as well as proficiency with Datorama, Interaction Studio, and Social Studio.
- Experience integrating Salesforce Marketing Cloud with Salesforce CRM (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud) and external systems (e.g., ERP, data warehouses), and proficiency with SQL, AMPscript, SSJS, and APIs for data transformations and customisations.
- Strong expertise in customer journey mapping, cross-channel campaign design, and marketing automation, with the ability to create dynamic, personalized content and audience segments
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale marketing projects, from design to post-launch optimisation, with excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Knowledge of digital marketing regulations (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM) and experience implementing security protocols to protect customer data.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Consultant, Developer, or Architect) and training in additional Salesforce ecosystems (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud) for enhanced integration.
- Proficiency in analytics tools like Datorama, Tableau CRM, or business intelligence platforms, and experience using AI-driven tools (e.g., Einstein Analytics) for advanced data segmentation and personalisation.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow . Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
