About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Technical Specialist (SAP Basis) to join our team and support critical financial systems used for banknote issuance and secure gold bullion processing. This role involves managing, configuring, and maintaining SAP ECC functional modules (MM, SD, WM) while ensuring platform stability, performance, and security.

This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, but candidates must be flexible to attend onsite in London when required (e.g., testing, planned work, or emergencies). Out-of-hours (OOH) support will also be required as part of a rota.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support major SAP platform change projects, including upgrades across applications, databases, and operating systems.
Provide technical expertise in SAP Basis, defining as-is and to-be designs, and delivering both high-level and low-level designs.
Deliver end-to-end SAP projects: requirements → design → delivery → BAU support.
Ensure continuous system maintenance, applying enhancement packs, upgrades, and critical corrections.
Provide technical support for business users, including 24x6 cover with occasional evening/weekend support.
Contribute to high-quality documentation, processes, and assurance principles.
Work collaboratively while embodying the organisation’s core values: collaborative, inclusive, empowering, decisive, open.

Role Requirements

✅ Essential:

SAP Certified Application Associate (or equivalent) with expert SAP Basis knowledge.
Strong hands-on expertise with SAP Oracle-based platforms (including upgrades & migrations).
Proven experience with 3+ SAP installation or upgrade projects end-to-end.
In-depth knowledge of the SAP Application Lifecycle (software logistics, corrections, enhancement packs, upgrades).
Excellent skills in SAP Basis, Oracle, and Linux (RHEL).
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Jira.

⭐ Desirable:

Solution Architecture certifications (TOGAF or equivalent, ideally SAP-focused).
Experience with Oracle RAC and clustering.
Advanced knowledge of RHEL for SAP Solutions.

Working Expectations

Core hours: 09:30 – 16:30.
Occasional onsite attendance required for testing, planned work, or in case of remote access issues.
Out-of-hours (OOH) support: 1 week in 3 (Sunday–Friday, 17:00–08:00).
Weekend support (planned work): up to 8 hours, up to two weekends per month.
Flexibility to support high-severity incidents and product releases outside normal working hours.
