SAP SCM Solution Architect

Job Summary:

The Solution Architect is a senior client-facing role within the Consulting Practice with responsibility for the design of SAP S/4 HANA and SAP Business Suite solutions that meet the needs of our customers. You will work alongside the programme management and delivery teams ensuring that solutions align and integrate within contracted technical specifications and NTT DATA/client IT strategy to deliver the intended and expected results.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Engage closely with customers as well as NTT DATA sales, business development and delivery teams to assist in the translation of business requirements into a solution that takes advantage of the most appropriate SAP products and Best Practices and propose a solution architecture to deliver the customer requirements. This will include:

Collaboratively compiling statements of work to support any stage of the sales and deal review processes.
Lead and co-ordinate business requirements and design workshops with detail and complexity at Director level.
Identify technologies to employ and architect solution strategies that successfully deliver required customer and prospect outcomes whilst advising and working closely with NTT DATA programme management and technical delivery teams to ensure conversion to a successful and profitable project.

Act as the design authority on the projects in which your area of expertise forms a significant element of the overall solution and generate consulting revenue from such activities.

Provide thought leadership and participate in industry forums, seminars, blogs etc. as well as engaging in marketing activities to promote SAP technology and solutions to NTT DATA customers and prospects.

Be a primary problem solver, focusing on reviewing and defining architectures, working across multiple complex customer projects. Provide quality assurance across a range of projects where not directly engaged.

Adhering to the agreed NTT DATA strategy, engage in self-directed and other learning to keep pace with new technologies and developments to ensure NTT DATA remains at the forefront of the market within which we operate. Share, use and communicate expert knowledge in order to develop others and make business processes more effective.

Recognise potential for repeat and extended business with respect to the end-to-end service offering by NTT DATA and provide comprehensive input. Support NTT DATA to grow our business by being alert to the customer opportunities that present themselves, including development and escalation of NTT DATA IP opportunities, as appropriate.

Be hands-on and be able to support delivery consultants if required.

Be able to lead process health check workshops with the client in your area of expertise to identify improvements both strategic and tactical and define a roadmap for their delivery.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong background in Supply Chain Management within S/4 or across the SAP Business Suite, with a demonstrable technical expertise and experience across multiple and relevant SAP software products. You will have deep SAP functional knowledge.

Should be adept at leading multi-disciplinary teams, developing and maintaining strong business relationships and managing delivery teams through complex SAP projects, with the goal of always providing real value to our clients.

Able to communicate, influence, convince and inspire effectively by own personality and act as a trusted role model and advisor within the solution architecture field of expertise.

Proven and demonstrable track record of successfully delivering customer projects and providing solutions for the resolution of complex architecture projects. Makes solid and reliable decisions in complex environments.

Experience of strongly contributing to the delivery of a Target Operating Model for definition of future business models aligned to customer needs.

Strong interpersonal and soft skills, able to quickly develop relationships with all stakeholders; within NTT Data locally and globally, external customers, suppliers and partners to become a trusted advisor in your of field of expertise.

Demonstrates gravitas and personal integrity, is able to overcome unforeseen situations and keeps business objectives in mind. Drives results, convinces and inspires by his/her personality, behaviour and communication style. Is a role model and ambassador.

Work on delivery projects across our customer base in varied roles: advisory, solution reviews, proofs of concept etc.

Contribute to our team and practice capability and growth; develop yourself and mentor our emerging talent community.

Great understanding of cross module integration within S/4 HANA, and SAP reference architecture for SAP Business Suite products.

Experience of S/4HANA conversions or system optimisations (especially Brownfield / SDT conversions) would be highly desirable.

Personal Profile/Experience:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate at least 15 years’ industry experience overall with a minimum of 10 of those years spent working within an SAP consulting role.

Proven and demonstrable experience with successful delivery experience gained across at least 8 full project lifecycles.

Minimum of 3 successful, full lifecycle projects as solution architect with a wide scope of software integration solutions. This will include large enterprise or multi-country global project deployment/roll-out programmes.

Has a thirst for learning and staying on top of the evolving technology landscape. Actively shares and transfers own expertise and operational knowledge in a structured method, thus making it useful and functional.
