About The Role
Motability Operations are currently recruiting for a Scheme Protection Investigator to join our team in Bristol, London or Edinburgh on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role you will have the exciting opportunity to work within our Scheme Protection & Investigation Team, focusing on upholding the integrity and reputation of the organisation.
In close collaboration with scheme partners, you will lead in developing a coordinated approach to addressing misuse of the scheme, including issues related to criminal activity and benefit fraud. By working closely with DLM, DLG, and DWP you will leverage your experience to optimise the application and impact of data-driven insights concerning customer behaviour.
You will engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, you will ensure a proactive, coordinated, and well-managed response to areas of concern. You will be responsible for creating a strategic roadmap, proactively identifying potential risks of scheme misuse and implementing considered resolutions. This involves close collaboration with data scientists and engineers, our scheme protection team as well as ongoing establishment and maintenance of productive external relationships to maximise mutual benefit.
By identifying and implementing measures to reduce misuse and abuse, you will support the delivery of a more affordable scheme for the majority of our customers, who rely on their vehicles for independence, societal contribution, and day-to-day living.
About You

- You will need to be an effective communicator at all levels, who has excellent external stakeholder management skills

- You have previously worked with data analysts/data engineers and can lead them with a clear steer on what needs to be investigated
- You have used your communication and stakeholder skills to work with government agencies and scheme partners in a collaborative manner with the ability to influence them to act
- You have previously worked in insurance, intelligence, investigation, or crime prevention roles
- You understand contractual terms and conditions, the limitations with different parties and whom and where to highlight areas of concerns.
- You work proactively, have an investigative approach and enjoy tackling challenges.
- You have proven skills to effectively identify risks and have an inquisitive nature to understand and be able to address areas of concern and take action to prevent through the implementation of controls.
- You can find solutions independently and can influence others to change policies and processes
- You are committed to protecting the reputation and integrity of the Motability Scheme.
- You are a self-starter with initiative, enthusiasm and ambition, and can work autonomously with limited guidance.
- You can work on multiple tasks and projects and are able to prioritise and juggle competing priorities effectively ensuring all stakeholder expectations are managed and met.

Minimum Criteria
- Relationship Management: Experience in developing and maintaining professional relationships, including navigating sensitive situations and challenges.
- Proven Communication and Influencing Skills: Ability to engage with individuals at all levels, as well as being comfortable influencing and challenging
- Strong Understanding: In depth understanding and knowledge of vehicle insurance and other Motability scheme partners to inform decision-making processes.
- Strategic Vision: Experience of independently developing strategic plans, successfully implementing these plans and then flexing and changing them throughout a project lifecycle
- Work Independently: Proven experience of working independently, as well as part of a team, taking the lead in investigative project work with proven outcomes
- Relevant Experience: A management background in roles involving leading on project work for insurance and/or crime prevention
- Strong Commercial Awareness: Demonstrates strong commercial understanding, sound business judgement, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

We operate hybrid working across the organisation where we split our time between working on-site at our offices, and at home, remotely within the UK.
