Job Opportunity: Scrum Master
Contract: 6 Months
Rate: £644.62 per day (via Umbrella Company)
Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid Working)
HSBC is seeking a highly organised and proactive Scrum Master to join their team in Edinburgh. This role is pivotal in leading the triage process for incoming change requests, acting as a key link between Product, IT, Operations, and Product Solutions. You’ll be responsible for ensuring timely assignment, governance alignment, and visibility of change requests across the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong Agile background, excellent Jira (Gojira) skills, and a passion for continuous improvement within the Financial Services sector.
Responsibilities:
Lead the Triage Process for Product Solutions Delivery
- Manage and facilitate regular triage meetings to assess, prioritise and assign incoming Jira tickets
- Ensure that all change requests ae accurately categorised, contain the relevant amount of detail and are assigned to the correct teams within Product Solutions
- Work with requestors and product to determine the materiality of a change and ensure change requests deemed material are following the correct governance flow
Scrum Facilitation:
- Act as the Scrum Master for one or more Agile team
- Facilitate daily stand ups, sprint planning, retrospectives and reviews
- Remove blockers and foster team self organisation and ownership
Jira Admin & reporting:
- Maintain the Product Solutions confluence page
- Enforce ticket quality and standards with proper use of fields and tags
- Generate triage reports using Jira Query Language (JQL)
Stakeholder communication:
- Collaborate with product owners, other Triage Leads, operations and IT architecture and communicate the status and urgency of change requests
- Service a central point of contact for Product Solutions triage related escalations and coordination
Continuous improvement:
- Identify patterns in triaged items to inform process improvements and backlog management
- Recommend enhancements to triage agile execution practices
- Define and communicate Change Request and Triage practice standards across SSv
Experience / Skills Required:
- Experience working in Financial Services, ideally experience working within Securities Services in a change/scrum master role
- Analytical thinker with a strong judgement and prioritisation skills – proven Product/Business Analyst experience
- Ability to assess the business impact of a change, challenge requirements working cross functions/product lines
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Highly proficient using Gojira and Confluence
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communicator both verbally and written
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, and under own initiative with a sense of ownership and accountability
- Positive, dynamic, and resilient individual, open to change and able to adapt to changing circumstances
